January 2010

Once again, this month is mostly a blur. Working tons of overtime kinda has a way of erasing memories. So let's see how much I can remember about January. :)

In the beginning of January, Amanda, Richard and I went down to the Boston Museum of Science and met Dan and his brother down there. It was a blast. We went into the museum probably 30 minutes before it closed and ran around like kiddos. It was amazing. After the museum closed we went into the Harry Potter exhibit. Holy Cow amazing. I love being able to see actual props. It makes the movies that much more amazing and being able to seet he actual size and scale of things. Wow. So I got to hang out in Hagrid's hut, sit in the easy chair (which is huge and comfortable btw) and pull mandrakes to repot them. How fun! They also had quiddich rings set up and I was able to score a few goals with the quaffle. I was in heaven. I would love to see props from every movie, or even better, be a part of making them. They had props from wizard's chess, the bedroom set from the male dormitory and oh man am I in love with those four post beds. The curtains on them were dark if you were trying to look in, however you were able to see out of them just fine. Talk about spectacular. That means you can people watch from bed and no one would know you were in there. That way you don't feel closed in either. Genius! They didn't let you take pictures in there. I totally should have snuck some, too bad i am not clever enough. I really should learn to not follow rules. I could go on and on about it for days. It really was special that I was able to go. Maybe because I am in love with the series? Who knows. I also was able to see how they did all the moving pictures. It is like being able to see the method behind the magic and it doesn't ruin it for me, it makes it that much better!!! We were supposed to go back again, but didn't make it down. I hope they make a giant museum some day with all the stuff. I would go back as often as I could. Even if it was in London. It would just give me an excuse to travel. (Not that I need an excuse. I always want to travel. Oh well, one day.) I promise Richard was there, he some how eluded all the pictures.

Mathematics are like Frenchmen:

Apparently T-Rex gets cold

Night Vision Cam

Yay for the flash making us even whiter!

Dan, his brother, and Amanda!

The ONLY picture I took. How sad!!! but HARRY POTTER!!!

After that we trucked it back to the T. Not only was it FREEZING that day, Boston is ALWAYS windy. Mix that with a sudden slush pour (like a down pour of crappy wet rain), getting to Ale Wife and back that night was something spectacular all together. NOT. Getting down to Ale Wife was fine, come to find out that the station was closed and we had to take the bus to Washington Square. From there we took the T in and then on the way back we had to do the same thing in reverse, and STILL had to pay for parking at Ale Wife. It would have been quicker and cheaper just to drive into the city and park at the museum. Oh well. It was an experience. I still think I should have taken more pictures. :(

So lets see, what else happened in January you might ask? What can trump Harry Potter?! Idk, Harry was the very beginning and nothing could trump that right? Well I have something for you. Kassaundra is totally potty trained! We had been playing around with it for a while. She would go sometimes other times not. We got serious about it, and a day later guess what?! She is so dang smart. She may not be talking yet but she figures things out wicked quick. The term silent but deadly comes to mind. Isn't it always the quiet ones you have to watch out for? I can't get enough of her. She is such an amazing little spirit.

Big Girl Panties!

Other than that, not much went on in January. I did get to cook a few times. I made a lasagna that was at least 25 lbs. That was delish. I love cooking. Love, Love, Love. So when I do cook I make excess. It's ok though. It is called planned-overs. I love making lasagna especially because it keeps so well. You put it in the fridge to cool over night and then the next day you cut it up into individual squares and freeze it and lookie there! Insta lunch. :) Much better for you than store bought, I cost to much, and I am going to preserve you for life because of all my preservatives and grossness, freezer isle meal. :) You can do it with just about everything too. I rock I know. You don't have to tell me. Haha. I also was able to make breakfast a couple of days for Richie too. Yay! I would love to just cook and bake forever. And just have people there with plates ready saying "feed me". My hand got into a fight with the new cheese grater we bought. It was definitely sharp. The cheese grater won.

Pepperoni for scale...I should have taken another picture that showed the 4" depth.

Mmmm Breakfast. Be jealous of my egg shaper.

Not too bad after it stopped bleeding. It stung horribly bad though.

Odwalla smoothie. This is to remind me what was in it. Yum.

Wasn't January exciting?!
